The Energy Systems Analysis Associates – ESA² GmbH is an innovative, independent and competent company providing evidence-based energy system analysis and business intelligence to support public and private clients on their energy transition pathway. The ESA² Company was founded after completion of the ESA² lighthouse innovation project within KIC-InnoEnergy initiative. ESA² consulting services include in-depth studies on the economic and environmental impacts of energy and environmental policy measures on economies, sectors and companies taking into account the tensions between local or company-related interests and international societal objectives and macroeconomic goals. The analyses of ESA² provide support to government organizations, NGOs and companies when defining development strategies, efficiency improvements or investment decisions within changing policy frameworks. Therefore ESA² use a flexible tool kit of established energy systems and environmental analysis models which will be coupled and linked to a consistent and comprehensive data base. For the REFLEX-project ESA² provides expertise in designing data warehouses, data preparation, consistent database design, model coupling methodology and model interfaces. ESA² is responsible of consistent model integration, avoiding overlaps and foster the strengths of each partner and model involved. Moreover ESA²  has a decisive role in disseminating the results and outcomes of the project.
